Powerbase Energy Systems Inc. is a Canadian -owned company, incorporated in 1997 to design, manufacture and market hydroelectric control products known as the Powerbase Platform, for small hydroelectric power generators.  This system includes control, protection, remote monitoring, reporting, SCADA, switchgear and hydraulic technology developed by Powerbase and installed in power stations in Bosnia, Canada, China, Panama, Poland, Tibet, United States and Vietnam controlling over 400 MW of generation capacity.
 
The experience with hydroelectric generation systems has given Powerbase considerable knowledge and expertise in the design, installation and commissioning of control systems and electrical switchgear.

In 2005, Powerbase focused this expertise on the renewable energy potential of biogas associated derived from organic waste.  Powerbase has designed a heat and power system and an anaerobic digester to convert agricultural organic waste, such as manure, into heat and electricity.  The containerized, factory-assembled system provides financially and technically viable small-scale biogas systems.  Powerbase is the only company with a "Made-in-Canada" biogas system.

Powerbase intends to leverage its expertise to become the largest provider and technological leader in the field of municipal and agricultural biogas systems in North America.
