Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I am interested in biogas technology, but am unsure where to start?
A. Powerbase has a team of recognized experts that are able to assist with all of your biological, engineering, financing and income questions. Contact us.
Q. Is biogas technology financially sound?
A. Yes, biogas technology makes sense provided you have sufficient organic materials to feed the digester and have the correct power purchase agreements in place. Powerbase can help assess you in understanding these issues.
Q. How large of a farm must I have?
A. We recommend a dairy herd of at least 100 cows, plus other organic wastes such as bedding, rotted hay, etc.
Q. Your website speaks about dairy farms. Can you assist with other farm-based biogas systems?
A. Although Powerbase is primarily focused on the dairy industry we may be able to provide assistance with other farm operations. Contact us to discuss this issue.
Q. What does a system cost?
A. The Synergy Biopower™ Technology is the least costly way of developing anaerobic digester technology and is designed as low-cost modular units that are factory produced and delivered to your site. A certain amount of local engineering and delivery of product, as well as system size will affect pricing.Contact us for further details regarding price and delivery.
Q. When can you install a unit?
A. Powerbase is taking orders now for delivery in 2006. As this will be our inaugural year, we will be limiting the number of site installations. Full-scale production and delivery will begin during the 2007 construction season.
Q. What about service and support, I don’t understand mechanical technologies?
A. The Synergy Biopower™ Technology is designed with sufficient "intelligence" to operate autonomously. In addition, the system is connected through either dialup modem or internet link to our central location where maintenance and operations support is provided. If you have purchased our customer support package, we will even dispatch operators for routine maintenance to ensure your system is operating at peak efficiency.
